Things to Look Forward to in Vaughan in 2020
If you are a resident of Vaughan or are looking to purchase there, things are looking bright for the future. With many new amenities set to open and lots of attractions to look forward to in 2020, this will surely be a fantastic year for the city.
What’s Coming in 2020?
1. Canada’s First Smart Hospital
The highly anticipated Mackenzie Vaughan Hospital is anticipated to open in late 2020. It will be the first hospital to open in York Region in over 30 years and the first-ever in the City of Vaughan. Plus, it will be the first smart hospital in the nation, featuring fully integrated technology systems and medical devices. The hospital will provide a state-of-the-art emergency department, modern surgical services, ambulatory clinics, intensive care beds, advanced diagnostic imaging and much more.
2. The First CREACTIVE in Canada at Vaughan Mills
If you haven’t heard of CREACTIVE yet, you’re in for some exciting news. CREACTIVE is a Cirque du Soleil family entertainment centre which will include a wide range of acrobatic, artistic and recreational activities including bungee jumping, aerial parkour, juggling, dance and so much more. It is anticipated to open at Vaughan Mills in 2020.
3. The Opening of the New YMCA
This is one we are particularly excited about! In 2020, we will witness the opening of a brand-new public library branch as well as a spacious 77,000 sq. ft. YMCA in the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre. The YMCA will have a full-size gym, conditioning and weight rooms, two swimming pools, sauna and whirlpool, multipurpose fitness studio and recreational sports and group fitness programs.
To make things even more convenient, the YMCA is only minutes from Cortel’s CG Tower and Abeja District condos. We are honoured to be closely tied to the project as our very own Vice President Peter Cortellucci was named co-chair of the YMC of Greater Toronto’s Strong Start, Great Future Capital Campaign.
4. Tons of Community Events
As always, Vaughan plans and hosts plenty of exciting and fun events for residents of all ages. Some in particular that you’ll want to mark down are:
