Edgeley Park: An Exciting New Era of Urban Life in Vaughan
There are a few things that help make a neighbourhood a home. One of them, among others, is a park: somewhere you can take a deep breath and enjoy trees, flowers, and fields.
In the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre, that park is coming to Jane Street and Highway 7. It’s going to be an exciting new space for all things outdoors. It will feature running paths that wind down a valley, as well as two creeks that flow around a small island of trees, fit with benches and walkways — a new space for exercising, socializing, and enjoying nature.

This rendering of Edgeley Park showcases paths, benches, and beautiful views.
The park is being built as a way to help enrich the VMC, and as an extension of Cortel Group’s master-planned community, Expo City. The park connects directly to CG Tower, Cortel’s landmark VMC building, and Cortellucci Square, the VMC’s first public park.
Cortellucci Square was a joint effort between the City of Vaughan and Cortel Group, and is right beside Edgeley Park. This central community hub features a playground, a splash pad, and a skating loop in the winter. Edgeley Park will connect this square to Jane Street with bridges and paths; all nestled into a rich outdoor space.

Cortellucci Square’s one-of-a-kind playground offers endless fun for kids of all ages.
When Edgeley Park is finished, it will be a peaceful space for VMC residents to enjoy the outdoors. It will feature paths that wind down a hill, along Black Creek, lined with benches, and surrounded by trees. The centre of the park has a small, forested island, accompanied by a pond and bordered by two streams of the creek. The island will be united with the rest of the park by a bridge, which will lead directly to Cortellucci Square.

This map of Edgeley Park is oriented with Hwy 7 and Jane Street in the bottom right corner.
Edgeley Park also plays an important role in sustainability, ecological preservation, and water management. Its streams, ponds, and landscape make it a perfect system to route water safely through Black Creek. It’s also a natural habitat for wildlife, fostering the local ecology and keeping the VMC a vibrant, connected living destination.
The project has seen significant headway in excavation and landscaping, forming the overall structure and shape of Edgeley Park. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting new amenity.
